Doug Bender, the newly appointed Mayor of Black-River Matheson (BRM), is a distinguished individual with a deep-rooted connection to the community. Born and raised in the region, Doug's lifelong residency in both Black-River Matheson has given him a profound understanding of the area's unique characteristics and the needs of its residents. 

With an illustrious career spanning 37 years, Doug dedicated himself to the Transcanada Pipeline, working diligently from Sundridge to Ignace, Ontario. This extensive experience has made him intimately familiar with Ontario Northland's service area and the transportation challenges faced by the region. His invaluable insights into the infrastructure and logistical requirements will undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping the future of Black-River Matheson. 

After retiring from his successful career, Doug transitioned into the public sector, serving as a municipal councilor. This role further honed his leadership skills and provided him with an in-depth understanding of local governance. As an entrepreneur himself, Doug possesses a keen understanding of the challenges faced by small businesses. He has actively advocated for their growth and prosperity, recognizing their significance as the backbone of the local economy. 

With his extensive experience, unwavering commitment to the community, and visionary leadership, Doug Bender is poised to bring positive change to Black-River Matheson.
