Accessibility

We All Need Accessibility

The Township of Black River-Matheson is committed to providing all persons consistent opportunity and access to the Township's programs, services, and facilities. The Township strives to ensure integration, independence, dignity, and equal opportunity for all of our community members.

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (A.O.D.A) was enacted in 2005 with the goal of making Ontario Accessible by 2025. The A.O.D.A. consists of five standards which guide employment, information and communication, transportation and the design of public spaces.

Township of Black River-Matheson reviews site plan control agreements, develops programs to improve accessibility in the community and generally advises on the accessibility of City services and facilities.

We recognize the importance of creating an inclusive community where everyone has equal opportunity to live, visit, raise a family, work and retire.

We follow regulations outlined by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

If you require any information available on the website in an accessible format please contact the Clerks Department.
